remove all plastic glove box clips by gently pulling up on the center pin and then removing the base of each clip. Pull out the light lens and disconnect wires. You should then be able to manipulate the box out including over the latch.

Thanks. I'm trying to locate the cabin temperature sensor. Hopefully it's behind the glovebox.

Not sure on the '91 but on the 123's its to the upper left once the glove box is removed. My guess, same place. on yours. Just follow it down from the sensor in the center of your dash just up from the center vents (if this is your car's configuration).

Thanks Dadette. I worked the glovebox out, but I don't see anything with foam on it.

Do you have a sensor (about 1" square louvered flat plastic piece) on the top of your dash just above the center vents?

On the 124 the cabin temp sensor is in the dome-lamp assembly.

No, there is a small vent in front of my sunroof switch.

I see the sensor. I guess I should be asking how/where it gets it reading. I searched a few threads and everyone talks about foam tubing(i want to see if mine has deteriorated)

Well, there you go and now you know! Thanks. Does he have the same foam piece in the sensor tubing and, if so, where?

Yes I see the sensor. I'm looking for the tubing, ie..how does it get it's reading? It's not maintaining the preper cabin temperature.

No foam tubing.

The sensor sometimes gets fouled with dust etc., vacuum it and you might improve its function.

The sensor functions by air drawn across it via a blower under the rightmost dash vent using a tube from the sensor, across the header, down the right A-pillar, and behind the dash to the blower. If the blower is working properly it will hold a small piece of paper against the opening on the roof (or tissue paper). If the dome-light has been serviced (lamp replacement etc.), it is possible that the clips have been broken and the tube/sensor not properly mounted.

To remove the glovebox liner I suggest removing the latch in addition to the above instructions (to service the blower).

Thanks. I took a look at it and there is a litttle crud up there. I'll vacuum it out and report back.

Thanks a million...a little dusting did the trick. Now that the interior is correct, I can move on to the exterior.

Abslutely. BUT I don't want to celbrate to soon. I'm trying to get my aux fans to work at low speed. They do nothing when I turn on the a/c. I'm researching threads right now.
