Gasoline + my 77 300D

So, I let my mom borrow my 300D today cause she hasn't driven one she back in the day. I get a phone call from her telling me that is just died on her at a light and won't start. I ask the obvious questions and got no real answers. I hop on the Ducati and ride over there. I got it to fire, but it wouldn't idol, had to keep the rpm's kind of high so it wouldn't quit. It had been a while since i changed my fuel filters. I had spares in my trunk so I figure I'll give it a shot. I'm looking at my primary and thinking the color is off. I get it loose and I instantly smell gasoline. So I ask mom if she filled the tank and she smiled and said yes, she was being nice. I asked if she put diesel in...and of course her answer was no.

So, I've siphoned as much gas out of the tank as I can, what should my next steps be?

Thanks all!

Put your mom on the Duke & send her on her way !!!!!
Fill the tank with diesel, fill the new filter with diesel, run as much of the petrol out of the fuel lines as you can. If you can get it to start, keep your fingers crossed & run it gently for a while !!

Good Luck

i'd be tempted to put some trans fluid in the tank to cancel out the gas. of course, this could make it worse...

engine oil instead of trans fluid. my parents ran 2 stroke cars in Eastern Europe 20+years ago, they didnt have fancy 2stroke oil so just used regular engine oil. dump a liter or2 in the tank, shouldnt hurt the diesels I think, they run on oil anyways
