300sdl hard to start on hill

My 300sdl has just recently become very hard to start in the morning, when parked overnight on a slight incline. Need to crank for maybe 3 mins..After all day in the level lot at work it starts first tap. The temp. in the morning has been around 45 to 50. and in the 60's in the day. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you noticed any fuel leaks? Wen I had a similiar problem it was due to the fact that my IP was leaking; of course my engine wasn't getting enough fuel. Definitely sounds like a fuel issue. How steep is the incline?

The incline is about 35 degrees. There is a small amount of fuel on top of the motor mount. All of the lines are tight. Where should I look on the IP for a leak?

Where did the fuel on the motor mount come from? Fuel leak maybe?
What happens if you park it facing the other way?
How much fuel is in the tank?
Are you using any alt fuel?

Do you know where or how the fuel got on the motor mount? The most common leak is right on top of the IP. It really shouldn't be to difficult to see if that was the case. If there is is diesel on your driver side motor mount it's definitely cominng from above it. Also check all of the hoses in and around the area.

There shouldn't be any moisture on or around your IP.

You can definitely do it yourself. If you look in the DIY section there is a complete right-up with photos. If it is in fact leaking from the top; you'll want to search "Delivery Valve Seals" Firstly, you need to find the source of the leak.
