Hi Larry,
Compared to the post counts of yourself and some of the other people who have chimed in, I am but an lurker/learner and occasional poster. However, having owned my 240D for 10 years, I've probably been a reader of this great forum for most of those years, and have benefited time and time again from your sage advice and helpful thoughts, either directly to a query of mine, or through searching the archives. Thank you for all that. In a way, this forum feels to me like a family of sorts, and like real families, occasional disagreements and spats are quickly forgiven and we all move on together, helping each other through life (well, in our context, with the MB-ownership part of our life, anyway! ;)) We're richer with you in our midst, and poorer without. Glad to have you aboard! --Robert |

It reminded me of two English scholars debating grammar, no sparks or budging on your positions, and everyone walked away having expressed their view. :D "Larry", I hope to see you before the end of the year. |
Larry I have been lurking around this forum for more years that I care to admit. I do remember when your your giving knowledge freely was the norm not the exception. I am glad to see that your name will be around more I am not familiar with what ever your "infraction" was but I doubt it was deserved. We all have trials that test us you sir have shown class through it all. good luck and my prayers will be with you and your family.

Larry -
I can't say anything better than what's already been written. I hope this forum helps and you feel the support of all the members here. Lost my Dad (& Mom) many years ago remember that to live on in hearts that love is not to die. I sense your Dad's right next to you chuckling when your wrench slips and you mash your knuckles....take good care. |
If I see any posts with your name, I read them knowing I will learn something. You have something no one can take from you. A touch of class. All the best.

Larry, you've helped make this a GREAT forum...THANKS MAN!
So sorry to hear about your Dad Larry.
I've read your posts...even sent a couple of PMs when I had problems...and you are the BEST man! Bless your Dad and you and your family Larry! I consider you a friend I've never met...and a wise one at that. A U.S. Air Force Vet! |
Does this mean we can use R12 drop in replacements now? :D
edit: I admit, I've PM'd Larry for AC advice. Much respect... |
This newbie was chuffed when you first commented on one of my threads - so that must mean something eh? Keep on smiling - and keep on posting!

I nominate Larry for POTUS!

Larry,
Hang in there man..... |

I wouldn't last long as President. Within about two weeks I would be screaming "WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE OUT OF WARHEADS?!"
By that time the Secret Service wouldn't be too pleased trying to keep up with the new Gull Wing either. As President you wouldn't have to spend anything on food and housing, so why not buy an expensive Super Car? I appreciate the vote of confidence though! |
Nice to "See" your Moniker again.
Seasoned Tutors expound the undiscovered.
Thanks, Larry. |
Larry, I feel a great affinity with you. It seems we are near the same age. I lost my dad about five years ago. It was not unexpected. He was suffering from cancer of the liver so it was a real relief for him when he passed. I found that I miss him a lot more than I ever expected and probably more than I even realize. He had been my go to guy for many types of advice.
My Architectural practice of over 30 years shriveled and died about three years ago when the economy took its dump. I was extremely fortunate to find a job at Purdue which uses most of my education, experience and skills. I had assumed that I might end up driving a bus or something like that since I figured I was all but unemployable at age 59 having been self employed so many decades. You and I would disagree as to the cause of the slump since we tend to be fairly far apart politically. I wish you best luck in finding work that uses your skill, intelligence and experience. It takes real fortitude to apologize publicly. I salute you for it, though I don't know what it relates to. Best wishes. Tom Walgamuth |
Thanks for the sentiments Tom. The reason for my industry's demise was not political in any way. It was all related to the specific niche technology evolution and the way that Huge companies deal with small companies.
I'm glad things are going well for you. |
