Fuel supply and return lines-300sdl
On my suppl line what started out as damp has turned into a drip. I already have the new hoses(supply and return), My question is when i pull the supply line, is that the tank strainer that it screws into?
Also if I do this with the ass end off the ground will gravity help me with the re prime? Any one that has done this please chime in thanks

Yes, the supply line screws into the fuel strainer. You can actually dremel or saw off the crimped fitting that holds the hose on the threaded end and find there is a barb. You can reuse the threaded barb and just replace the hose with your choice of fuel line and a hose clamp.
When you unscrew the supply line from the strainer on the bottom of the tank, there will be some fuel coming out even after draining the tank. It's a good time to pull and clean or replace the fuel strainer. Takes a big 46mm? socket. A new Viton o-ring is a good idea if you use biodiesel. Gravity will get the fuel down the line to the engine compartment and into the pre-filter. It won't prime the pump though.

A 1-13/16 socket will also work on the Fuel Tank Screen Nut. However, the Nut is rather thin.
I would look for a socket that does not have too much Radius/Taper on it or grind it down so that more of the socket bites onto the Fuel Tank Screen Nut. As you see from the pic I have bought the Socket but still have not ground it down yet.

OK thanks for the info. Headed to the beach so this will have to wait until I come back. Time to decompress and stare at the waves for a while.
