Help: Need An Engine for a 1983 300SD
Fellas,
A good buddy of mine drives a cosmetically pristine 1983 300SD. Last week, he blew the engine on it. Evidently the engine started leaking/consuming a lot of oil lately and he had forgotten to add oil. Long story short, the engine is cooked. The car is in great shape and he wants to install a rebuilt engine into it. -He is located in Chicago -Where can he source an engine for this car? -Do any forum members have a good one for sale? -Are there any other engine models that can be installed (without major rewiring, engine mounts, etc) in this car other than the OM617 that are better performing? -What modifications can he do to the OM617 rebuilt engine that will make it produce more power?
