Various parts what is service life ?

As some here know recently became the permanent caretaker for my Dad's 85 300SD ( he bought it new) I finally found his overstuffed file of every service done to the car since he took delivery as well as every tank of fuel ever put in the tank ( miles on car where purchased, how much etc). As I went through the receipts I found some items that were replaced more than once and was just curious if the shop pulled a fast one or not. Here are just a few.By the way the car has between 199,000 and 200,000 miles on it.
Air Filter housing bracket- Replaced 5-6 times
A/C compressors, Rcvr Drier, expansion valve everything for the A/c except dash controls replaced 3 times ( maybe more Dad has a 2nd file somewhere)
Engine Mounts replaced 2-3 times.
All front end parts parts replaced at around 150,000 miles.
Rear suspension Links done at the same time.
Also how long should a turbo oil return line expect to last. The one on this car was replaced around 191,000 miles and is leaking so I am not even certain it was ever done.
Anyway it is kinda cool to have all this info as I try to get all maintenance up to spec and then keep it that way. As it turns out the maintenance started to slack off around 2001 when the car had 191,750 miles on it. My Dad's Alzheimers and touch of dementia coincided with it.

That actually sounds about right.

The turbo return line is likely an o-ring. They can get dislodged also due bad air canister mounting brackets.

I wish I had one of these since new.

Of the five I've owned, one needed a new air filter housing bracket. I have replaced numerous "buffers" tho.

The A/C in the CD failed last year, never worked in the SD, seized compressor.

I have yet to need an engine mount replaced.

The SD needs front end components.

Rear suspension "Z" links are a routine replacement item. I understand the 116's will fit and are metal, but the ball joints are the failure item.

The CD had 83k on the working odometer in early 2004 when I paid too much for it and has 131k on it now.

The SD had 175k in late 2006 on the working odo, now it has 224k on it.

Both need new turbo drain "O" rings and the CD needs a new front crank seal.

Yeah, As I go through the file I do a search on here to see what bullet I may have dodged because Dad already had something repaired or replaced. I also found where the IP was replaced under warranty at one point. Also the crank seal and so on.

if the bracket is breaking that often, something is not right with the engine. check the rack damper, the engine shocks and shock mounts, and valve adjust, and injector balance/pop.

Rooster300SD, Yeah it is but when he does have a moment of clarity it is great to have him back if only briefly. VSTECH, from what I can find the engine mounts were replaced I just can not put my hand on the file at this moment.
I am not completely certain that this shop did the things they charged him for.
I know not all shops are crooked ( I worked in more than a few) but a few things in the file just do not make sense or the shop does not know what they are doing. Even though they advertise as a Mercedes Benz shop. I will get back under the hood this weekend and see what is up. I am trying to get her running properly by the 9th of November. My Mother has asked me to drive her and my Father to a dedication ceremony at the Marine Corps Museum near Quantico VA.
for his Basic Class. I believe that he has another one coming up for him and some of the other survivors of the "Chosin Resevoir" during the Korean war.
Anyway as I said my Mom wants to take him there in his beloved Mercedes.
