The attachment may help for the mirror.

The arm rest is attached from the inside of the seat, remove the three screws holding the rear wall. Once you do, you'll see a nut, that holds the arm rest on.

Got back from Texas yesterday night and got up early this morning to check out a junkyard that got in an 81 and an 83 a few days ago.. Ended up picking up..

Fuses
Taillight bulb
Driver side mirror
Ignition trim
Breathing hose
Right and left seat control boxes --- Came to $44 total with tax and what not

Before I left to Texas I was able to pull the radio and ordered the face plate I got that put on, I tried to test it and got no sound. It also turns off when I start the car? I will try pluging in some of my extra speakers and see if its a bad speaker and if that doesn't solve it I will rewire every thing.

This Tuesday I have the headlights, Tail light lens, combination switch, and new emblems!

Going to be a busy week, heres a video of it starting and idling does it need the valve adjustment? Oh and any ideas on how to get the nut that holds the air filter on?

Try to keep those original blue plates if they'll let you.

The usual tach failure culprit is the amp itself, you may be able to rig up a temporary fix, but Techguy512 has more info on that.

The air cleaner nut should be obvious.

what kind of problems are you having with the center nut on the air filter?
is the stud crossthreaded? is the nut correct for the car? if the battery tray has it's nuts still, it's the same thread as the battery hold down studs use.

If it won't go on (won't start threading) I would leave it. I had this problem on my last SD when I purchased it... when I finally got it on, it cross-threaded itself halfway down the shaft and would not move in either direction.

If you are spending time in recyclers anyway, the air cleaner wingnut on some older Subarus will fit. And it's a wingnut, which makes life a bit less complicated.

There are a couple of recent radio wiring threads. Get a voltmeter and do some reading. Turning off with the ignition and no sound probably means a wiring issue and possibly a dead amp in the head unit. The fader on these cars can cause the amps in the head units to fail.

I will have to do a search on the radio problem and get back later in the week with what I find!

Haha and as far as the little nut for the air filter I mean the one underneath that holds the entire air filter to the engine?

one nut?
the air filter contraption is held to an air cleaner bracket with 3 rubber isolation bolts. the bracket is bolted to the exhaust manifold with 3 13mm bolts and a lower bracket that is also held in with a 13mm bolt...
what nut are you talking about?

I believe you're referring to the bracket below the air cleaner housing.

Item #14 has three mounting bolts, the center one is hidden and difficult to get to.

The second pics has arrows to the mounting bolt holes.

Hey, per my PM to you a couple of weeks back, if you'll PM me your address I'll send you a new tach amp. More likely than not it will fix your problem.

Regards,
