w124 seats in a w123

They both appear to have the same track size- has anyone tried this? I'd like to replace the seats in my wagon. Do the bolt holes line up? Is it a direct swap?

I am going to try it next spring. I am also going to try to get a w124 steering column in a w123. Maybe then I will fit fairly well in a w123

Different width. You can make some brackets to make it fit.. Just make sure the bracket is sturdy.. :-)

Both appear to be close to 19 inches wide with a quick measurement- which is wider? Are the mounting holes somewhat close?

I assume you're referring to the seat cushions and backrest, and not the seat base which is most likely electric. I once bought a set of '85 123 seats and they looked very similar to those in my 124, but the seat bases were very different, even outside of the electric/manual dissimilarities.

The track in which both sit is about 19 inches, and both have four retaining bolts. I think I'm gonna have to switch seats in a junk yard myself to answer the question.

Actually I assume the opposite. What would be the point if you could not use the electric seat rails?
