Comfort System

Hi All,

I just bought a 1993 300d 2.5 and have some questions about the comfort system.

1. Can you close windows from the trunk lock?
2. Can you open windows as well?

Thanks!

I don't think I've ever tried that. It works from both door locks, might from the trunk also, ... try it I guess.

Also closes the sunroof.

Only closes. No open. Only from door. Not trunk.

Opens also. In addition, I've found that if I close the sunroof with the feature, it will open it again (not mentioned in the manual). Doesn't open the sunroof otherwise.

Our 1990 300TE's convenience system does not open the sunroof.

Opens and closes all windows, also closes sunroof. But not opening the sunroof.

Haven't tried the tailgate key though.

Should the convenience system also open the sunroof?

Thanks

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the quick replies. I thought it opened the windows once. I also though the trunk would switch would close the windows. It has ceased working that way though. Closing the windows and sunroof still works with the driver's lock. Passenger lock appears to be changed (key does not fit).

Any suggestions on diagnosis?

Thanks!

I am curious when this convenience feature first appeared? I havnt tried this on the 123,124 or 126. Our W210 opens and closes everything via the remote. Cool feature.

Either '90 or '91, I don't remember which (on the 124).

Now I'm all curious as to whether I have it or not.

From deciphering what you said it DOESN'T do, I guess that IF your windows are open and you lock your door and HOLD the key towards the locking detent, it will automatically close the windows.

???

On my '92 the windows and sunroof can be closed from the trunk. I do it all the time. Not sure about opening them from the trunk though.

I don't think the W126 had this feature. My friend's '93 W140 doesn't have it either, but our '90 300TE has it.

None of our W201's have this.

I have a 560 SEL W126 with many options made in 08/91(or90?). So its a pretty late 91. It does not have these feature as I can tell. I even asked in another thread about "comfort locking" and they say no go for any W126.
