what's with all these power antenna's and drawing current after shutoff... is it a flaw with the radio or a problem with the board in the antenna? I've rebuilt several antennas (antennae?) never had an issue with battery drain. never really checked truthfully, but none of my batteries go dead when parked for long...

maybe it has to do with the aftermarket head units not telling the antenna to go down.

When you shut the key off of the stock system, the antenna goes down, so in theory, you set up the aftermarket head unit to do the same, but I bet it has to do with the fact that the aftermarket headunit never stops sending voltage.
