1992 300D 2.5 head gasket?
I changed my head gasket 2 years ago, can a head gasket go bad in 2 years? I have a oil/coolant leak on the bottom of my exhaust manifold on cylinder #5. When my car is idling It stumbles every once in a while, and when it stumbles I get a puff of smoke from the bottom of the exhaust manifold on #5 cylinder. What is going on?

It's not unheard of. Oil alone could might not be the head gasket. Coolant in that area can only be the head gasket. There's a coolant supply fitting for the cabin heater by the oil filter. I don't think coolant can quietly get to the other side of the engine but you might have a look.

If it's otherwise running well with no excessive pressure in the cooling system and no odd temperature behavior, a new head gasket is probably all you need. You might try a cooling system pressure test.

Took head off yesterday and there is a crack by #5 and coolant passage. This new head gasket better last longer than 2 years.

What brand was the previous head gasket? Might it have overheated over the last couple of years?

Took the valves out of the head tonight, The valve guide seals were all gone. Not one was there, not even any pieces. What is the deal? I replaced the valve guide seals on my 76 Dodge W100 this summer and there were a few that had fallen apart. But there should be something there.

Ok, got her all put back together and she runs good. I have a question, The fuel lines that run from injector to injector. I got some fuel line that is rated up to 50lbs of pressure, Will that fuel line be ok? I forgot to get the line that was on it. Will it be ok?

Glad you were able to save that car.
The line that runs from injector to injector is the low pressure return line. In a pinch use weed wacker fuel line from the home center. The proper return hose can be found here
