Oil Dipstick question

On the w124 diesel om603 1987 300d i just purchased the oil dipstick is broken off at the top loop,i visited my local pull a yard and only saw red and or green ones, i mean the plastic handle and loop on top.
On my car i have a black one, i measured mine against both red and green and they were all different lengths, they were close but not quite exact.
Anyone??

FWIW, the epc shows just one oil dipstick.

Were you pulling dipsticks out of the OM603s? I find it hard to believe there was a myriad of 603s at a pull a part.

This may be off base, but I was recently told that on Sprinters (made by MB) that one color (red - I think) was to check the oil when the engine was warm. The other color was for checking oil in cold engines. Don't know this for a fact, but might be worth checking out.
