'82 300sd tach question
I'm using the OM617 to repower a Jeep and am trying to figure out how to get a working tach in the Jeep.
This is the crank sensor right? The gray wire from the crank sensor runs to the scan tool connection right? And I hope the wiring harness from the scan tool connection is all there is to the dash unit? The MB dash tach unit and clock appear to be the correct size to fit into the new vehicle. Am I missing something here or is it as straight forward as I'm thinking? The MB tach and clock were working before I pulled the engine. Does anyone know of a way to keep the existing '89 Jeep comanche tach and make it function from the MB crank sensor? |

Hey, found your thread! Fun looking project, I would love to see it in person. I have been looking into doing this conversion for some time on my 96 Rover. Course doing on a rover is a little cost prohibitive (5-6k range on the cheap side) I see quite a few people doing this in jeeps, is it pretty strait forward?

You'll need a wiring harness and a two pronged tach. This is for the MB, don't know about the Jeep set up.
