I'm not totally familiar with a CD, but isn't the window in a frame in the door? how could a misalignment in the window interfere with shutting the door? aside from air pressure, I don't see it. the aerospace 303 protectant is a great product that will not dry out vinyl or leather. it's not greasy, it just provides wonderful UV protection. I'm not following the lights issue... you want to sell your headlights? are you wanting to change them to euro's or something? like I said. it's unlikely the passengers window need a new motor, more likely, the regulator is either damaged, or the bolts have fallen out, and they need to be put back together before the regulator gets damaged. |
As a coupe owner, I will say that misalignment of the windows is an on going problem with these cars. My right rear window needs attention now but I'm not sure exactly how to do it.
|
So you can use 303 instead of armorall on the dash and mbtex and get better protection without greasiness?
On the lights, I want to go to eurolights. I found some Bosch new at 549 dollars. Does this take me off the concourse? I am not sure what needs to be done on the left driver window. |
there is a coupe owner on the forum that's thinking about bringing me his car to look over the back window regulators, and such. if he comes over, I'll look over the front window slides, and regulators and see what I see as far as alignment and adjustment is there...

The coupe front windows on the 123 and 126 bodies have 2 little L brackets that stop the window at a certain point so it can slide up under the seal on the body of the car. There is a bracket at the front of the door near the mirror and another at the rear part of the door, they are adjustable by loosening the 10mm bolt. Adjust them in small increments, it might take a while to get the door to shut properly since the seals are old and stiffer.

The rear windows seem to have a problem developing a spot about half-way down where they stick. Mine have sometimes functioned fine - full up/down with no problem; and sometimes balked about halfway down. There is another thread that says this is fixed by lubing the rear mechanism. Removing the rear interior to access the mechanism is a trick in itself: seats, seatbelt, hat-shelf, trim... And yes, lowering the window a fraction of an inch makes the doors easier to close. This might be due to age/hardening of the significant amounts of rubber around the doors. |
