92 300D alternator replacement pulley problem
Hey all,
Got a reman Bosch with new voltage regular and no pulley recently. Today took the old unit out and cannot for the life of me get the pulley off. The fastlane catalog shows a pullet for $40-something, but it doesn't have the fins, just the pulley itself. Do I need the part with the fins or can I just use the pulley? Thanks. Why these can't just come fully assembled is beyond me. -m

An impact wrench should loosen the pulley. I bought my cheap HF electric impact just for pulley jobs.

What's the best way to hold it?
