Unhooked vacuum door locks

Does having the door locks and vacuum reservoir unhooked and plugged off at the four way have any effect on the transmission or shut off?

In other words, does the transmission or the shutoff benefit from having the vacuum reservoir?

Hope that makes since.

Probably not, but not having a vacuum reserve could be bad in mountainous driving if you have to use the brakes a lot. Then again, it might never show up. When power brakes were coming on strong in the early 50's, most all the car makers did install a small "tomato" juice can as a reserve. But that was also used as a reserve for the then common vacuum powered windshield wipers and then also for heater and AC controls.

I wouldn't think so. Just make sure the open orifice that was unplugged gets pluged with something (electrical tape, golf tee, etc.).

Or just plumb the reservoir directly to the vacuum line to isolate the rest of the central locking system.

The vacuum reserve tank has nothing to do with the brakes. it is the supply for locking and unlocking the doors, fuel door and trunk.

I second Charlie. There is usually a rubber Y or 4 way connector in the vac line in the engine bay. On the vac pump side of the Y there is a one way check valve.
The other two sides of the Y go to the reservoir and the door locks. Since there is a check valve above the connection of the res and door locks nothing else can
use the vac in the res. HOWEVER, if the res is leaking then it can affect the rest of the vac system.
