What's missing in this picture?

Circled in red. I think there should be a piece of Teflon or something slippery there for the hood bump stop to slide on as it opens/ closes. Is that piece still available? Mine are missing on both sides.

I don't think there's anything in that depression. The hole is to drain off water.

I believe the adjustable bumper stops are actually installed on the hood.

Yep, that hole does nothing....the hood bump stops are on the hood.

Yes the bump stop is on the hood but I thought a piece of Teflon there would make the hood opening closing action smoother. I've seen it on other cars.

Usually the teflon strip is on the hood latch. Not on the bump stops.

There are 4 or 5 of these little teflon pads across the radiator core support on my TD but nothing in those depressions, just the drainholes.

They're not just pads. IIRC they hold clips on the bottom/underside of the radiatorsupport structure for the hood release cable.
