Ignition tumbler 190D

I have had this car for over a year now and finally got the title and a key for it. It's an '84 190D and the key works great everywhere but the ignition, it looks like somebody tried to cram a damn flat head into it with a hammer. The key goes in but wont turn at all, almost like its the wrong key. I sprayed some PB blaster in it just for the hell of it.

Is this a lost cause?
