Aftermarket Cruise Control?

I was wondering if there are any decent aftermarket cruise controls for 190D 2.5 cars or any Mercedes precomputer diesel in general? I am guessing a sensor mounted to a driveline or crank or flywheel would do that trick?

there is a big write up on this topic already. can't remember who started the thread but he shows how to hook up to stock control stalk and everything. do a search

Yes, an electric Rostra cruise control will work. I put one on my CAT 3208/Wanderlodge.

Put the Rostra electronic in our 87 wagon not too difficult if you can read a wiring diagram and make sense of it.There is no support from Rostra for european cars but there are a couple of good writeups on here.Ours works great and i feel its money well spent to get modern electronics and a 3 yr warranty as opposed to trying to keep 25 yr old stuff working. I will search again. I did a search, maybe didn't spell something correctly..

Read the write up. That sounds like the ticket. This car I am getting didn't have cruise on it at all..

I am quite sure the vacuum operated model is no longer available from Rostra or Audiovox unless you find some N.O.S. you will have to go with the electronic version.Just go to http://www.rostra.com/ and see what is currently available. Don

Ties in the same way. I'd think it would be easier than the Vac version. All the connections can be made where the stock cruise amp is located. I used an old amp for the connector and solder the connectors. Then is was plug and go.
