300D, Touching the wiring harness changes idle

Hey everyone,

Recently my om603 1987 300d started idling weird, after trying to find why, Ive only found that the wiring harness that goes from the battery area to the temperature sensors causes it, but when i push it towards the air filter a bit, it makes the engine run perfect.

Could anyone point me to what could change the engine idle speed in that harness so i know what wire to chase down?

I can get a video or pictures on here to show what im talking about if that helps.

Thanks,
Alex

The idle speed is electronic. Three pin connector on ip goes to firewall, to a computer box in front of the battery.

I would say that it is neither a witch nor a chupacabra, that it's more likely possessed.

There's likely a bad contact or decaying wire inside that harness and I would carefully dismantle until I found the culprit and fixed it.

If ghosts start to come out while you're dissecting I would walk away from it...lol

Just wanted to update everyone, i found the cause of this.

One of the sleeves that connects onto the pin of the (red thing in the back of the IP) was loose. Cleaned it, crimped it, good to go.

Oh yeah, it was a two pin connector, not a three pin. Was thinking of the wrong connector.
