Turn off/Block middle air vents on 116?
My heat stopped working and I haven't gotten it fixed.
The twin vents in the middle of the dash blow the cold air from the outside to the inside. It doesn't actually BLOW as in forced, but the air comes in from the action of the car moving. Where is the section to tape off or cardboard block so I'm not getting blasted with cold air? Probably under the hood at the firewall? Thanks!

Not sure if you can get the directional vanes off, but if so, you should be able to plug that vent off.

There should be a lever in between your center vents that you push down. Assuming the lever is working properly, pushing it to the down position should shut off the air flow.

Nope, no lever. levers on the side vents by the window, no levers, buttons, etc for the center vents.

Sorry for the bad info. My 1980 300sd w116 has this lever. I can only assume that mercedes did not put this on the earlier models.
