Door striker adjustment - door won’t close
My strikers were failing.
I got one and swapped the innards to allow me to keep my original metal. Kept the shins in the same order, and marked the location. Befor my door wasn’t aligned great, and took a decent slam, but it closed all the way right. Now it doesn’t. Used the play doh trick. The point on the door is centered. It will make the first latch and stay closed, but it will not conch tight. The seal doesn’t contact the door. Essentially if you close it hard it will rebound to what is shown above and just stay in the first latch. I’ve aligned and realigned. Any ideas?? Tightening at the furthest inward position (not where it was before) doesn’t even cinch it tightly to the body.

Mine did this when I had missing spring in the latch mechanism inside the door. I forgot to put the spring on that pulls the striker tab in place, door would be hard to close and rebound instead of closing sometimes. Replaced the spring and all was well.

I think the latches are ok - springs seem to be there, just the striker decomposed.
Almost feel like the window needed to reset somehow. I rolled the window down, and managed to get the door closed fully. The striker bolts were loose and it seemed to set it in place. Seems ok now...
