sumthin is busted on your car...

unless you live in the mountains, and drive nothing but stop and go, have lots of idling, and, no... you should still better 30...
average should be closer to 40 in that car.

I drive from the suburbs of WDC to Capitol Hill. A good chunk is at or above 70 mph on the HOV lanes, but still lots of idling and stop and go. My 70 mile daily drive includes more than 95 traffic lights. My commute was featured on Channel 4 news a few years ago. I always haul three adults with me too. Recent engine oil analysis attached. When I make my annual trip to Knoxville, TN, I get 34 or better. I'm not always light on the pedal.

The W124 gets that much better economy then the W126? I got about 19/27 in my SDL with the air blasting. Yes, I have a heavy foot. Same reason I get 35/45 in my TDI.

I never got better than 25 in my SDL.. never

I like the idea of mid 30's with the om606 and w124 body styling.

not ALL 124's get better mileage than the 126's. but the 95 with it's 606 non turbo has great economy...

any SDL would get better fuel economy than something with an M104. Too much fun to not keep out of it!

I think my SDL was just odd. It always smoked when I accelerated. But not heavy just some smoke.

Right around 35 lately for my '95 with 339K. Here's a graph since 2004.
