odometer quit working, need help!

I have a 1985 300SD. I got the cluster out easily and all the electrical connections are off. Surprise! That was too easy! With cluster lying on workbench I'm afraid to go any further not knowing what to look for or what to take off next.
Does the white plastic box behind the speedo come off next? Then what to do next?
