I got mine off eBay, used but in perfect condition, from someone who was doing a full restoration and wanted new everything.

Shortly after, a guy from I believe Thailand started selling NOS w123 stuff and had them brand new for only a bit more. At the time he had both the big seals (around the door opening) and the vertical seals.

Unfortunately, though I see he's still around... I guess someone must have told him the dealer list on this side of the Pacific pond. He now wants $322 for a set.

You could also do worse than putting "WTB" item in the For Sale/Wanted section here.

Yes that is what I am talking about. I have a '78 Coupe.

Thaiguy wants $322. Dealer quoted me $942 PER SIDE.

I know what works for me.

You might be able to construct coupe door seals out of 3 or 4 sedan seals. If I had a coupe I would give that a thought. Same thing with the windshield seal.

You will have a splice somewhere but a fatter wallet.

Upper seals that hang from the chrome at the door are alittle work ,youll take the rubber out first ,it shouldnt be glued in ,it is pushed into the first chrome seal rail ,another chrome piece rest behind that one and once you get the rubber out of the rail youll see around 16 small screws. The upper chrome piece that makes for the outer chrome liner that surrounds the rear window and runs to the front windshield edge is hiding some screws under a gasket that lines the rain rail at the windsheild area,I believe theirs 3 to 4 here, you wont have to take that piece off though .Another detail is that youll have to roll the back window down to do this job.Exploring the way the seals are put together makes for easier work and a good finished job when completed.

they are out there if youre not in a hurry. I found a really nice set in the yard. If you see a coupe with bad seals, remove them anyway to learn how to do it. Its not complicated but it is not obvious at first. There is a spot of glue at the front by the dash on the part where it widens out along with a couple screws I believe. be careful here it is easy to damage an otherwise good seal in this area

Nifty idea but cannot be done. The Coupe windows have no frame. The seal has a deep channel that retains the window glass. Completely different from sedans.

My above post about the seal is in error ,you actually can leave all chrome in place just pull the rubbers out and start the new installment from the front first with the small 7 inch piece first then the longest one next ,then the final back one last.3 pieces are required for the upper seal.Youll need to set in the back of the seal in the chrome holder then work the frt part with a screw driver as you go from frt to back. The last one is tricky ,youll set the back piece down into the rear windows edge ,it has an opening once in bring the frt piece of rubber up to the last one installed ,youll see how it works once your at this point.
