300 CD SeatBack Help Needed

I am in the process of reconditioning my seats from this CD. In doing so, I would like to replace the vacuum controlled locking sensors for the the seatbacks. The problem I have encountered includes the removal a clip on a rod that attaches to the seatback locking controller. If any one is aware of the method or tool to remove this clip , I would really appreciate the help.
