Anyone else hear this "creaking"??
That's how I describe the sound of the interior leather when driving. On a perfectly smooth road, it's quiet, but over other roads I hear a constant creaking like things rubbing together.
Ideas? Is it my medications? r

Yep. It gets better or worse depending on the weather too. Might actually be the seatbelt latch rubbing against the seat.

I have creaking on rough roads. It is annoying and I haven't tracked it down. It's hard to do when driving. I have driven a few other 126's and they all did it.

I think the creaking in my car is from the door panels.

My seats creak. The loose trim on the glove box rattles sometimes, and I also have a rattle somewhere in the left rear of the cabin. It's all character.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. At least until "the Rapture" happens today.

All of our W126's creak, the leather interior is much worse. Just the sound of ancient materials.

My SDL creaks where the vinyl door panels touch the bottom of vinyl door thresholds. Sometimes the lower part of the armrest rubs against the console. I use Wurth rubber care gel stick on the door panels and thresholds. It last a few months and then the creaking returns. I got the Wurth stuff from the local mbz dealer.

The answer is, the sound is coming from the plastic bits down on the low (left) side of the seat. Use your choice of lubricant to rid yourself of the sound.

If our diesels do not creak, it means they are not running.

Where the plastic seatbelt receiver trim touches the seat side, it creaks. I've had this in all of my 124s, vinyl and leather. To fix it I use a little leather conditioner or a touch of Plumber's Grease (silicone), wipe it on and then wipe it off, noise gone and a nice quiet ride like it should be.
Slip your fingers down between the seat and plastic trim while you're driving to see if it stops.
