I have 1993 300D that I am replacing radiator tomorrow and was wondering what kind of antifreeze does this model require. I have Volkswagen Diesel and it uses G12 antifreeze by VW. So does MB require something special thank you.

Mercedes has its own antifreeze, which you can buy from dealers. There is also a generic equivalent but I don't know its name. Someone else can provide that or you can search this forum, there are many references. Do not use the green stuff because of your engine's aluminum head.

Read the label, some of it is a premix. buy the concentate, why pay for the water in the premix. X2 on using distilled water.

I have a 2 1/2 gallon jug I mix it in, then no guess work. also I always have it on hand.

Zerex G-05, dilute with an equivalent amount of distilled water, so it is 50/50. I've never seen G-05 out there as a premix.

I could not find zerex G-05 in autozone, murrays, Wal-Mart so went to a dealer and got a gallon of mercedes coolant for $20 dollars and I got gallon of distilled water. Now the mercedes coolant is like yelowish in color so I hope it is right thing. Mercedes tech told me that is the only coolant MB uses.

That's the stuff. If you need more than 2 gallons total use more water, don't buy another gallon of coolant.
