300SD Coolant Overflow

1981 300SD.

Should the coolant overflow line be routed like this? IIRC it is routed by the frame rail to the ground on other cars.

Pretty close. The end of it punches through the wheel well. Tuck it under the metal brace and through the wheel well. See mine. Stick your finger under the single holed brace and you will find the opening.

I took mine and routed it into an empty G05 bottle mounted behind the headlight so any burped out will get sucked back in when the car cools down!

That may be orig, but I like it the way he has it run. If it does burp, you see evidence of it. If you are losing fluid (like I am) it eliminates one source (weak seal on cap.
