Which line is which?
Fuel lines coming from the rear. When I pulled the engine I didn't mark them. It is an 83 240D and I guess if I had to, I could determine which line is to the pump and which line is return by going underneath and viewing it. They are in the little bracket down under the vacuum brake and both lines look the same. Which one goes to the pump, the top or bottom one? I believe it will run equally well connected to either line, but the return is mounted higher and of course it doesn't have a screen.
