Made in China o-rings....they probably dissolve if you put diesel on them.

I refrain from buying much at HF anymore....lots of lead-coated junk there. If you shop around you can find stuff made here thats of decent quality.

X2, I wouldn't waste my time buying a paper clip from them. Like you said, look around, you'll find made in USA products at comperable prices.

I have had experience with the above statement a bunch of times. In use the Harbor Freight O-rings have been no better or worse than any other O-rings I have used.

If you are leery about the quality use the HF O-rings to get your Car back on the Road until you get the higher quality O-rings that you want and swap them at your convenience.

HF is good value and my favorite DIY store. There are things you don't buy from them but other things is my first place to look. Don't understand why some members moan and groan about HF. It is a nice place to shop and stretch your $$. I bought the kit a while back and I use it to fix my faucets and MBZ. That is money well spent.

bot the 14 dollar green ones for my ac system from Harbor freight listed in further up this thread. Hope they are metric.

I do not like buying Made in China stuff. But, when you buy O-rings other places you may also end up with Made in China ones.

Example: I bought a Black and Decker Hole Saw. Not only did it turn out to be made in China; it would not fit/interchange the US Made Black and Decker Hole Saw parts. So I took it back. (I also Emailed the Company and vented a little.)

I then went and bought a complete made in China Hole Saw Kit from Harbor Freight. At least there was no deception of quality.

You can buy Made in USA hole saws at Home Depot....I have one on the shelf currently...

Here is some moaning and groning. I bought some of their Chinese Hack saw blades. used them at PNP to cut off the radiator support when we were pulling a 617 engine out of a W123. I must have gone through 5 blades cutting through that tough German sheet metal. took the teeth right off. at first thought I was using the wrong side of the blade.

Then 3 weeks ago, at PNP again. I spotted 2 13mm oil filter housing nuts that were not removed as they usually are by the yard rats that prepare the cars for the yard. I dig out my trusty HF 13mm impact deep socket from my tool box. attach it to my Craftsman 10 or 11inch ratchet and crank down on it to break loose the nut King Kong must have tightened. I hear it snap loose, and snap snap snap like a ratchet sound. the dang socket cracked on 3 sides about 1/2 way down.

good quality china crap, probably from a melted down Yugo.

This set of 3/8 impact sockets have never been used with a impact gun.

For the most part the blue Nitrile mechanic gloves are ok, but some rip getting them on. the Black one`s are a little better, but twice the price at $12 a box, and even some of them rip getting them on.

I have the box of the Nitrile black O rings I bought a few years ago. I have used a few of them, and think some of the small one`s will fit the oil filter stem.
