Tools You Lost or Found at PNP or other at other Junk Yards
If you have been going to the Junk Yards long enough and often enough, Iam sure we all have lost a tool that we left behind in a car. maybe rolled under a seat, carpet or other debris thrown in a car. maybe left it in the engine Bay and just over looked it. sometimes in plain sight, give it a quick look over, and go down the line looking at another car.
Sometimes we are lucky and find a tool someone else has left for us to stumble onto. or maybe you were lucky to find a complete tool kit in a Mercedes or maybe the blowmolded case under the trunk lid in a BMW. Usually I find the MB cloth bag empty, (Found 3) or the blow molded case hanging down and empty. I have found here and there a MB wrench, or the double ended screwdriver that is a Slot/Phillips. found a 10 cresent wrench one time but that is about it. Iam always finding cheap or abused broken sockets, extentions, ratchets, or screwdriver. Last summer I was dropping the rearend on a W123, and the shocks have to come out in the process. I was using a 17mm gear wrench on the upper 17mm nuts, and guess I must have left in the back seat of that old W123. Last week Iam pulling a couple rotors and 2 doors off another W123, take a quick check for tools left, and off I go. next day Iam in San Jose at another PNP and decide to pull an engine. look for my trusty craftsman ratchet, and it isn`t in there along with a 3" extention and maybe a 13mm socket. This is that nice full polished chrome 11 + inch, tear drop head. item# 44833. think they are about $30. I have 4 other ratchets in the tool box so I was ok, but damn that pissed me off. Luckly I had another new one at home I picked up at a swap meet last summer for $22. can`t have too many back up tools. This thread things you found at PNP, got me thinking about the tools I lost or found. Best PNP find? Charlie

I lost/forgot my 10mm gearwrench once--something you always need with a MB.
Found a nice pair of needlenose and also a very good Leatherman. Oh, and a pair of earrings I gave to my wife. Jeff

Funny you should ask....
I found a complete MB wrench set all rolled up and tied in the trunk of an 83 SD on Tuesday. PNP assumed they were part of my tool set.

I found a 5 foot shedded snakeskin in the trunk of a BMW one time. I mentioned it to one of the staff at the yard and he said.... "oh, yeah .... You should see him now! We saw him the other day stretched across the road down there. He's about 12 feet long."
Although it was probably just a big black rat or king snake, ... Believe me, I was carefully watching where I was walking in THAT junkyard! And, since I hadn't brought a change of underwear with me.... I sure didn't want to find HIM in the next trunk I checked out!!
