Hurricane Irene

Here on Hatteras Island, NC we are in the crosshairs of this damned storm. Looks like we are going to really get it. I & the other Benz owners out here have taken all precautions to preserve our beloved cars.

Others to the north of us in VA, MD, DE etc. are also gonna get it, too. You guys north of us here in NC had better get ready.

Good luck to us all. Someone in the path of the storm will report when conditions allow...

Fortunately for me I live atop a large hill in maryland. Aswell as myvehicles. So im not to worried hopefully it isent that bad and everyone more in the danger zone wil be spared if only their mercs lol

Looks like it might be a direct hit at high tide here in CT. I think we've done everything we can to prepare, I guess all we can do is wait.

Stay safe everybody!

Iheartboost 08-26-2011 04:32 PM

Those of us who are very low better put their cars up somewhere safe and high lol

I've got my '67 in the garage and the 126 and 123 parked between the garage and the house. Winds here are expected to be between 45-65 mph. We should be ok.

I made room in my shop for the 240d so should be ok. I am high enough not to worry about flooding, just high winds and falling trees.

Go outside just before she hits, give her the finger and tell her she should've gone to Texas...

mikeyfev1 08-26-2011 08:11 PM

We'll take her

With "extreme drought" conditions here, we'll take her.

Rafi 08-26-2011 08:16 PM

you can have her and her sister. We have been getting rain almost on daily basis. I am starting to speak with British accent. Although that could also be from watching all the Brit shows.

You'd think with all these hurricane warnings, the hurricane wouldn't come around. It's been warned plenty. If it chooses to ignore those warnings, they'll be hell to pay.

Iheartboost 08-26-2011 09:29 PM

Lol^

yeah, we need hurricane infractions and bannings...

ashedd 08-27-2011 11:00 AM

Call me silly but I wouldn't mind seeing a hurricane in person. Tornado's can be cool but are short lived. Hail on the other hand, suck.

I had a funnel cloud pass other me while I was driving once. I swear the front end of my mustang GT came off the ground a little.

Anyway, good luck over there.

^^ It's a lot more "fun" to be on vacation and have it be ruined by a hurricane than to have to go outside and have to pick up the pieces of your life.

Waiting for the big blow! Supposed to be a direct hit for us. We pulled a LOT of boats out at work on Thursday and Friday. Pulled mine on Wednesday. Pool is almost overflowing now. Generator is hooked up and ready. Emergency pump is also ready in case sump pump gives out. Let's hope everyone stays safe.
