Just saw my car's twin get totalled outside Richmond.

Just passed multicar accident with a Gray 300SD on HWY 10 between Chester, VA and Hopewell. Rear end was crumpled to the wheels and the front was damaged significantly as well. Foggy morning at a stoplight. Looks like they were rear ended while stopped and pushed into the next car.

Based on the time and road, I am assuming this is license plate '83 BENZ' that I have been passed by for 8 years on the way too/from work.

Anybody know if this was a forum member?

All the glass was intact and the driver's door was fully closed with no one inside.

I was at the yard last week & saw a grey 83SD hit hard front & back. Passenger compartment was perfect. All doors worked. Trunk lid evidently had popped up to let the back crumple and was perfect. Seats were gone. Yard wanted $1500 for the car, $300 each for the doors. Later he said that he'd get $500 crushed. I left sad that he wants more than I'm wiling to pay.

Well, I guess that greedy sucker is just going to have to crush it.

I went to a yard in Texas the other day and the guy wanted $100 for a fender. I said I didn't need it that much but I'd take the hinges (been having problems with hinges on my wagon). He was non-negotiable. They got the hinges out but destroyed the fender in the process. Oh well.
