diesel purge, kinda backward way
I did some thinking and I did it opposite from all the recommendations (I know, I know
![]() I changed the filters BEFORE the purge ![]() My logic is not to have all the crud from the filters being washed into the DP and re-circulated all over again. I did it when I saw that the primary (macro) filter was full of junk. And not knowing the history of the car, I assumed that the secondary filter was equally dirty. DP never got dirty, but the engine IS running smoother now. 0-60 is 16 sec, down from 23 (Still faaar from norm but much better) Im not going to say its a magic potion, car is maybe running better from new filters alone, but there is definitely change - its much smoother now, nailing is gone. |

In the past I've run diesel purge without changing filters at all and haven't had a problem. It would cause an issue if you had A LOT of build up in the fuel system. Otherwise it's just going to add a little bit and not really be an issue.

Smart move. Consider that any contamination downstream of the filters wasn't real impressed with filters the first time around.
