Amazing spread in diesel in Detroit area

RUG goes for anywhere from 3.17/gallon to 3.45/gallon.

Diesel is going for 3.55/gallon to 4.29/gallon.

I don't understand this spread, it makes no sense, unless gas stations are trying to "enhance" their profits.

BP stations are sometimes high, sometimes low, so it doesn't seem to depend on the brand.

Maybe the middleman?
