'85 300D windshield wipers: small discovery
I went to a 21" wiper on the driver's side today as a test, a RainX wiper, and the extra 1" is on the top side, filling the windshield nicely, while not touching the windshield seal with the bottom part of the wiper. And it fits the wiper arm snugly, not like the elcheapo ones that will scrape my windshield.

I thought they took a pair of 16"ers... that's HUGE!

I had to look it up, thinking they were 18's. The 21" looked too long carrying it out, but it was raining, and it worked fine. I had neglected them a bit, hadn't changed them since last fall, and as always, just having decent new wipers, at least one, makes a nice difference.
