turbo, blowby, or toast.

I have only put about 300 miles on my 83 300dt and seem to have lost about a quart of oil in that time. There seems to be a sheen of oil coming down from the intake manifold gasket and I was wondering if it was oil being pressed out during turbo boost. Where would this oil be coming from? Blow by is significant but seperator seems to be clean and functioning, no oil in air cleaner. Problem does seem worse if I drive it hard and fast. Not too much smoke and seems to have decent power. Could the turbo be leaking inside somewhere and suppling the oil? Is this common. Threads I have searched seem to go round and round and I just get more confused. This is just a hobby car so I have all the time in the world to research problems rather than jumping to conclusions and pulling stuff apart. I have disconected the egr but not pulled it off and blocked. Wish I had my old 300 NA back. It was so simple.

Yes, it could easily be bad turbo seals. Pull the u-tube and look at the compressor wheel for evidence of oil. (with the engine off)

I dreamed about my intake falling of.So I thought I'd check the bolts. They were all loose.

Would oil be in "u" tube if it were being sucked into intake via bad seal in turbo? I am sure I could manifold gasket at torque bolts to prevent leaking but it would not solve my oil consumption issue.

No, oil would not be in u-tube, only on compressor wheel.
