Any recommendations for W124 rear view mirror w/ backup camera?

My original rear view mirror is falling apart. New cars have mirrors with backup cameras on them. There are a few companies out there that make mirrors that will retrofit some cars but I doubt any of them have the base needed for an older Mercedes. The spring base Mercedes has is the problem. If I could remove my mirror from the rotating end of the Mercedes mount and replace it with a suitable one, that would work. Ebay and Amazon have replacements but they're expensive and if I'm going that far I might as well look into a rear view camera type.

I'm familiar with 2phast's products and all that is, is a dimming mirror. I'm also familiar with rear view mirrors that attach over your existing mirror and though I might have to go with one of those, they are sort of ridiculous because then your mirror is 3" thick and 1" longer than it was before.

Just wanted to see if anyone had any better recommendations.

I just put in a dvd radio with pop out screen for the backup camera... seemed easier... but don’t buy spidertech... crap. Radio quit responding... get a quality pop out model.

I’d keep the mirror stock.

Will the radio with pop out screen fit these older Mercedes? I just replaced my radio with a Sony with bluetooth so I can be compliant with the no touching a cell phone allowed law.

Yup, worked great... till the thing crapped out.

It was in my 190D... might be different in a different dash, but I dont see why not.
