A little help needed.
Hello all! Hope everyone had a nice holiday!
I was wondering if I could get a few questions answered, but first I would like to explain a little about my situation. I have a 1983 300SD – “126” and I’ve had is for almost 4 years. Recently it started making a noise while the engine was running. I took it to the auto hobby shop near where I live to check it out. Initially I thought it was the exhaust, but it turns out that the transmission was bad. While I was looking at the transmission there appeared to be at least 3 bolts that were sheared off the torque convertor, and or flywheel. So here are my questions. 1. Has anyone had any similar experiences with bolts being sheared off? 2. Has anyone purchased a transmission near 10533 in the Westchester County area? If so, could anyone give any recommendations as to a good place to buy one? As an added note I plan to do most of the work myself and have access to a garage with lifts and all the tools needed to perform the repairs. I’d like to pull the transmissions vice unhooking the engine. Thanks for any information and help.
