Please give some more detail! Does it slip when cold, warm? Under what acceleration? How do the other gears engage?

Does it slip going into 4th gear? Or does it slip while already in 4th?

I had a slipping problem with my trans. I think it was in 3rd gear. I was sad. I ended up "fiddling" with the vacume lines, the vacume modulator key and the fluid level. Fixed. hasn't slipped in over 7k. Worth a try. andy

Have you had the dealer change the tranmission fluid & filter lately? It should be done at least every 30kmi. If not, get that done ASAP, and specify synthetic ATF (like Mobil 1, Amsoil, or RedLine.) It's amazing what "bad" fluid can do to shifting characteristics...
If you have recently had this done and it still slips, you need to have it checked by a competent trans shop. It might be fixable w/o spending a fortune on a "bulletproof" trans. The stock transmissions are usually very strong and often last 200-300kmi if cared for properly (regular fluid + filter changes.) The type of driving you say you do should NOT be a problem for this transmission! The only problem would be if somehow you increased horsepower drastically, which is nearly impossible with the OM617 engine... HTH,

First step:
Remove all vaccuum signal from the modulator (located on the right side of the trans) and see if that cures it! You can just pull the signal line in the engine compartment.
