Why "the Pook"? Do you know what that means in Russian slang?

My husband calls it a "pook" because it's so slow, lol. No, I'm unaware of it's Russian meaning, but judging from the question, is it something having to do with female anatomy?
As for the tires, I actually am starting to see a little bit of uneven wear again, so yes, definitely must get that alignment done soon.

Yes I do! I only noticed recently that that piece is missing.

Use ATF Dextron for the power steering. Power steering fluid is no compatible with the seals in the steering box and it will leak.

Oh, It would just be easier to get an aux fan from the junkyard, ready to R&R into your car. Does your 240 have a working A/C?

No, A/C has never worked since I got the car. But whenever I turn on the car, I can hear that "gurgling" noise the fan has made since it went bad (at least that's how it sounds when I'm in the car). Hubby said it was probably the bearing that went out on it.
Oh, and my car's an automatic.

Why would the fan come on with no AC and a cold engine? Might the sound be the heater auxiliary pump or the cabin temp sensor aspirator motor? No non-ACC cars have a cabin temp sensor?

How do I check to see if either of those are the problem?

Video of the sound. This is only with the key turned in the ignition, the car itself is not running:
What's this sound?? Part 2 - YouTube (The radiator splash stains are old, I'm aware I need to scrub them out, disregard those )

Does the noise persist if you unplug the fan? And why is the fan spinning in the first place? I'll bet there was an overheating problem in the past and someone hard wired the fan as a cheap fix.

That's pretty good that the two of you are working on it together. The last job my wife helped me with was hood pad installation on my 560SL. And welcome from another board newbie.
