1987 420sel hood swap to my 83 300sd

Hey Guys,

I just tried swapping out the headlights from the 87 420sel and the hood clamps are in the way.

Well this got me thinking about swapping the hood, top bar going in front of the radiator. Of course that car is a light blue and mine is a midnight blue. If I did this I would look like a want to be mercedes guy for awhile until I had it painted.

What all would I have to do to make sure the swap goes smooth? thanks in advance.
