W115 Trunk Vac Lock Success!

I purchased a w115 '75 300D about a year ago and I must say she is cleaning up nice! The car was missing the button for the trunk lock and it appears that at one point, someone smashed in the button to access the trunk (key lost?) so I was able to pull another one from a donor car and had it keyed to match the ignition key. Had a difficult time for awhile until it dawned on me that the locksmith might have reversed the pawl when the lock was being worked on so I reversed the pawl 180 degrees and voila, perfect! I was able to check fuel lock door vac pod while there and cleaned things up and now have functioning vac trunk lock and vac gas door lock. I love these olde Mercs - they always respond well to a little love and attention. Nice to have extra keys now too!
