Hello, hello (300SDL Inside)

So I've been reading/lurking for about a week now and decided to introduce myself.

The name is Alex. Currently located about 45 minutes east of New Orleans, LA. I do work as an audio/video tech aka stagehand/roadie. I also do work as a movie extra, so the Benz might show up in film/tv!

The car is an 87' 300SDL. Bought about two weeks ago. Sorry to disappoint but this isn't one of those "wow another mint MB" shes been far to neglected for such a nice car, makes me sad.

But now I own it and shes going to get the love she needs!

Current problems on the fix list:
Blower motor/brushes (gotta have my AC!)
Replacing window switches
Fix instrument cluster lighting/ground
radio
Search for better interior to swap over (blue and warn).
Paint (clear failed on hood/roof/trunk)
Order euro one piece headlight enclosure (if that's what its called)
Rims/New tires!
Refinishing wood trim.
Fixing the combo switch/cruise control
Fix tach (no signal)
fuel sender (works sometimes)

The 603 and tranny are sound although I believe my cat is clogged/ALDA needs adjustment as it is quite slow until boost. Turbo is good making a solid 14psi. Warms up like it should and barely travels above 80c and the trap has already been removed (thank goodness.) Car might get lowered, I hate fender gap (probably get a skid plate welded in as well.)

This is my 1st benz. Had a 84' 500 SEL for about 8 days, so that doesn't count haha.

vvvvvvv only good shot ATM, from a local meet

Local meet of what? I see a truck, a vintage T-bird, your SDL, a Mazda and a Golf. Do you share a zodiac sign?

haha! It was an everyone meet. We just get people from local tuner forums/word of mouth. Get some exotics sometimes and some cool stuff like a giant blower sticking out the hood of a 300c, and so on. We all sit out, drink and grill, parts exchange, and get sun burnt as all hell.

Welcome - have you went through and replaced all the vacuum lines yet? It's sort time consuming but not expensive to do. Pull one off, measure, cut, replace, repeat. It makes a big difference

Gator - Haven't been to Rouses in this car yet!

TX - Started! have just a couple left and I'll eventually order new clear hardline and do those as well.

Had the "loss of horsepower on interstate" problem, only had secondary screw on type filter in stock so I changed that and cleaned the smaller primary, its being replaced today, but had to get into work!
