				Elect. Vac motor in trunk

			yep, no door locks

pulled the elect. vac motor from the truck and tested. Hooked 12v and a ground to the main (red & brown) wires, no luck. Pulled the PCB out and applied 12v down stream of the PCB ( see pic) still, the motor didn't turn. also pulled the top off the pump, all vanes slid in and out fine, nothing was jammed up ) Is there a fix for this, after market? any one know what the replacement cost is? |

Do you think this is another worn Brushes issue? A different vehicle and lock setup but below is what I did; I lost my original Check Valve and used a generic one: Electric Vacuum Pump for the Door Locks Add On Electric Vacuum Pump for W123 Locking System

911, thanks for the insight, I didn't pull the motor from the plastic housing, seems rubber mounted with one way gromets. I may have to look that over again, I assume by your comment that the brushes on these pumps are prone to fail / wear out. Do you know if the brushes are avalible for rebiuld? I'll also start looking on ebay.

Or, perhaps just get some padlocks and screw in some hasps on each door. Tacky but effective!

Sorry, I say this out of my own frustration with my door locks as well. |

Indy, I'll stick with a correct fix for now, however, I'll keep your method in mind should things get real bad.

I was just speculating on what would cause the Motor not to turn. When My Blower Motor stopped turning I went in to look at the Brushes and found that one of the Connections to the Brush had corroded. It just took a little Solder to restore the circuit and get the Motor going. So you just do not know until you take a look. I have only seen the tiny little pics on eBay of the Motors like yours. I don't know if the Brushes are accessible.

I'll continue trouble shooting the system, this is a good challange. i did look on ebay, found many pumps, different years and models, will have to further pursue what I can cross over if I can't fix mine. here's a pic of the vane style pump thats used for anyone who has not pulled theirs apart. |

There are a lot of these pumps in the 126, 124 and 201 models in the PNP`s. would the other model pumps fit and work? might be cheaper to pull one and with shipping than getting one off e-bay. though Iam not sure what PNP charges.
