Front spindle nut torque
Greetings All,
This post is in reference to an '84 300SD and my question is simple. Is there a way to know or adjust fairly easily the front spindle nut without the dial indicator after changing out the lube on the front wheel bearings and replacing the seal? I don't have the dial torque gage they call for but I know someone out there has done this without one. Please give me details to tightening the spindle clamp without causing excessive preload on the bearing surface without this special dial torque tool. Thanks, Charles
