W124 power seat swap

I decided I wanted to swap out my passenger front seat today with my newly aquired blue tex seats. After removing the old seats, swapping plastic bits over and dropping the new into the car and hooking up the power I see that the rear mounts do not match the car. The new tex seats came out of a '91 300D 2.5 Turbo and are going into my '87 300D Turbo.

The original seat frame rails are more or less angled and the new are the same angle but the last two inches it flattens out. Awesome.

So now I need to swap out the seat frames. I'd like to guess that to do so I am going to have to pop the backs of the seats off, fish the wires for those motors out on both seats. Access the screws at the front of the bottom then unbolt the sides and swap.

Anything else I might be missing?

side question: the carpets on the front half of the transmission tunnel are removed how? It looks like I need to remove the center console which would mean dash removal.

The lateral trim carpet piece is held in place with a screw, and with two "dog ear" edges that clip under the edge of the center console. Look in your FSM for the picture showing the location of those "dog ears". 68-205.

No, the dash does not have to be removed to remove the center console, which you now know does not have to be removed to remove the lateral trim carpet.
