I'm curious what would keep someone from using a stanadyne fm100 fuel water separation filter as their secondary filter? If they both have the same 14x1.5 thread size couldn't you just use the filters for
this this in place of our secondary filter? It's only 30 micron, so it'd be like a prefilter, and then put a final filter later on.
Is there a reason this wouldn't work? It seems like an easier way to get a fuel water separation. Instead of doing the 'work' to set up a extra fuel/water separator along with the stock secondary filter... you could instead do a fuel/water separator in the stock spot and set your own extra final filter. Then the final filter wouldn't be limited by the thread size of the stock placement and need any modification. It'd be easier to set up a big filter somewhere out of the way.
